Lego Star Wars and other games?
Why do they make them look like legos? I mean I guess I just don’t understand. I haven’t played any of them because those games look like they are just for little kids. Are they made for kids or is it just because they are too lazy to make better graphics? I’m just curious….didn’t know if I was the only one that felt this way…

They’re not for little kids; my boyfriend and I (late 20s, early 30s) have been playing the Complete Collection on Wii, and it’s pretty challenging!
I suspect the reasoning is to appeal more to families because using Legos makes it a non-violent, family-friendly game that everyone can enjoy. It’s pretty charming actually, and the cut scenes are funny. But I can’t imagine any child playing it and getting very far; we bought the strategy guide and still have problems. Plus, Lego is huge in the Star Wars franchise, as you can make pretty much every ship, character, and scene out of Legos (ever been to a Lego store? it’s crazy!), so it makes sense that they would develop a game for it as well.

The whole point of the game is that they are recreating the story with Lego characters and pieces. It’s not a matter of being lazy – it’s not any less work to create! It’s just a different way to tell the story. They add a lot of layers to the game as well – it’s definitely not your standard beat-em-up movie game.
Lego Star Wars is an awesome game. There is a lot of humor there for adults. (My mom, who just turned 60 and who doesn’t like a lot of video games, loves this one.) The game play is well designed and the story works well for a lot of ages.
