I wanna sell these collections on ebay for some $$$. There is about 5000 pieces at least, all harry potter sets up to goblet of fire, all the old model star wars sets, and hundreds of colored legos from Misc sets.

If the boxes are opened, the value goes down. I would say, look on amazon or ebay and see how much people are selling each of the items for. Hate to say it, but a lot of harry potter/star wars/etc fanatics will pay crazy money for anything relating to their obsession, especially if it’s hard to find in stores, or if its an item they need to complete their collection. It’s worth a try… but don’t get your hopes up. There’s always someone willing to buy something!

Of course it depends on the condition of the pieces and if you have complete sets with instructions and boxes you will get more than if you do not. However if you are a builder you can try to make a custom model and sell that. You will get more money for a custom built set than for bulk parts. And you can sell instructions and boxes separate. Try Bricklink for all the information, prices and Brickshelf for ideas. Or I suggest mostly do not sell at all, save them for when you want to play again.
